Crusading

2:46 p.m. Today's project is to procure a serviceable vehicle to drive my friend and Steve to the 2010 Harvest Crusade at Anaheim Stadium. Why do I need to come up with a car? Not only is the air conditioning in my Jeep not working, but the radiator has a major leak.In the stop-and-go traffic we'll face as we near the Anaheim Angels' Stadium, it could blow or steam, I am not sure which!

Our auto mechanic friend Steve Kirkwood came by this morning to give us a verdict: we'll need a new radiator which he'll order today and install on Tuesday, much cheaper than our dealer would do it. It will take several hours, but the car will be home in our garage the whole time. Lots of details, but the bottom line is, we need to get to the Crusade safely!
Prayer answered--I was offered and and accepted the loan of our son-in-law's car!!

We are having a massive August birthday party that we host annually on Sunday and coincidentally, we have a broken lawnmower too! I know that our family, extended and extended-extended family and friends wouldn't care, but we do take concern to maintain our property as neatly as possible. The call went out, and not only did friends give us a mower yesterday, but a young man named Ryan came by this morning and mowed, weed whacked, and blew away all of the debris as well!

God has truly blessed us the last few days, no matter what the enemy satan brought against us! As Joseph said to his repentant brothers who sold him into slavery, after he had rescued them from famine and settled them in Egypt, "You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good." (Genesis 50:20)

Now home from the Crusade, and I am blessed to know I have a new (to me) sister in the Lord! Turns out my new neighbor accepted the Lord a number of years ago. She totally gives God the glory for bringing her through hard trials, to this new change in her life. And she'll be joining us on Thursday morning for the I Samuel study!!

It's been a busy, happy, productive and blessed day! 30,000 attended the Crusade tonight, and 2,368 went forward to accept Christ!! This will be a banner year--Jesus Christ brings much-needed hope to weary, hurting people!
In Isaiah 61: 1, Jesus says of Himself,
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound.
For freedom, deliverance and truth to be told captives held in the snare of the devil, once doing his will, bound by sin (II Timothy 2:26)--that's why Jesus came!
